Real-world performance & mpg of 2024 Elantra SEL

I've been behind the wheel of a 2021 Corolla SE for the past couple of years, and while it's proven to be both reliable and fuel-efficient, I'm thinking about making the switch to a 2024 Elantra SEL. The Elantra provides a bit more room inside and boasts better safety ratings, which is something I'm looking for, especially since I have longer commutes

My Corolla usually gets around 42–45 mpg on the highway and can accelerate from 0 to 60 in about 8.3 seconds, which has worked out pretty well for me. However, I've come across some reviews suggesting that the Elantra SEL might take around 11–12 seconds to reach 60 and offers slightly lower highway mileage

If anyone here drives the 2024 Elantra SEL, I'd love to hear your real-world thoughts on fuel economy and performance. Is the difference really noticeable? Any feedback would be really helpful

EPA estimates for the 2024 Elantra SEL is around the 40 MPG highway range which I think isn't so bad but I understand that it's a bit lower than what you have with your Corolla.
For acceleration, I've seen reviews and tests putting int in the low 8-second range for 0-60mph.
If performance is a huge concern, you might want to consider the Elantra N-Line, but that sacrifices some fuel economy for power.

0 – 60 is slower than your Corolla for sure, I've been getting around 38 to 40 mpg on the highway, so a little lower than your SE but not bad. I dont know your wants but if you value the extra room and features, it might be worth the tradeoff.
